Tech Data’s healthcare guide gets positive response from public sector partners

November 17, 2015

Basingstoke, 17 November 2015 – Tech Data’s Public Sector team has received a tremendously positive response to the publication of its special guide to the healthcare market, which the company has produced to give resellers improved understanding of the sector and how they can best exploit its potential.

The guide is proving to be extremely popular, with a number of partners requesting permission to ‘white-label’ or produce their own version of it utilising Tech Data’s content. There has also been a request to create a special edition for the Irish market. The digital version has been viewed more than 725 times to date, with visitors spending an average of well over ten minutes browsing the content. Tech Data has also distributed over 2000 printed copies to its customers.

The guide provides an overview of the market as well as independent insights and details of key products and value propositions available to resellers targeting the health sector. It contains detailed information from key vendor partners, including Acer, Dell, Epson, Ergotron, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, Netgear, Targus and Toshiba.

Cathi Low, Director SMB and Public Sector at Tech Data, is delighted with the response so far. “IT spending in healthcare is colossal and it’s great to see so many resellers taking the opportunity to learn more about the sector. While there are many projects for which some specialist knowledge is needed, there is also a need for conventional upgrades to infrastructure and software right across healthcare, just as there is in the commercial markets. In fact, the heath services have lagged behind other sectors in terms of new technology adoption for some time now. There is a real need for them to modernise, take advantage of the latest solutions and technologies, and reduce costs in the process.

“There is also just as much need for organisations in the health sector to understand concepts like the cloud and software-defined networking, so there are good opportunities for all kinds of suppliers. The guide is simply a starting point and a way to get an idea of what IT in health is all about and where the potential lies. Once they start looking to generate business, we can help our customers in many different ways, providing them with access to online Virtual Environments, special bid pricing and incentives from vendors, and offering them the opportunity to attend our free-of-charge, quarterly Public Sector Tendering Workshops.”

Tech Data offers special pricing for health and public sector bids and a whole series of online resources. These include the Virtual Hospital environments (Waiting Room, Ward Room, and Consulting Room), regularly updated public sector price lists, access to demand generation tools and additional information to help support the sales process.
