Tributes to The Doors and The Velvet Underground to play double-bill concert in Liverpool
Tribute bands to two 1960s’ icons The Doors and The Velvet Underground are to play a double-bill concert in Liverpool this summer.
The Doors Rising and VU will perform at Parr Street Studio 2 on Friday 05 July. Classic songs from the two acts include Light My Fire, Riders On The Storm, Touch Me, All Tomorrow’s Parties, I’m Waiting For The Man and Sweet Jane. The concert will also celebrate the 50th anniversary since the release of The Soft Parade by The Doors and The Velvet Underground’s 1969: The Velvet Underground Live.
Lead singer of The Doors Rising and organiser of the event Stu Capstick said: “This is going to be a great gig. The influence these artists still have on present-day musicians is testament to their continued importance in the history of rock n roll music. Although both of the bands play the songs fairly true to type, they will perform them in their own inimitable style and with the addition of respective visual spectacles. I think this line up is a first for Liverpool and possibly the UK, so we’re aiming to make it a night to remember, especially for fans of The Doors and The Velvet Underground.”
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are £8.80 in advance (inc booking fee), available to purchase online at https://www.seetickets.com/ and £10 on the door for The Doors Rising and VU concert at Parr Street Studio 2 on Friday 05 July.
