Synaxon hails success of UK National Conference

Sell-out event demonstrates the effectiveness and vibrancy of the Synaxon community

Leading dealer group Synaxon has proclaimed its recent UK National Conference a massive success, following a sell-out attendance at the fourth annual event, which took place last week at Hellidon Lakes, Golf and Spa Hotel in Northamptonshire.

The switch to a more southerly location – all three previous events were held in Cheshire – made it easier for attendees from the London and south-east region to attend. Attendance was boosted as a result, with more than 150 member companies represented. The 250-seat conference hall was packed for the duration of the keynote presentations, with standing-room only.

There was a much larger supplier attendance too, with 43 exhibitors canvassing their products and services to the Synaxon membership during the extensive workshops and networking sessions. The three headline sponsors – Cisco, Goodram, and GFI-Max – all hailed the conference as a first class event.

An opening address by Synaxon UK Managing Director, Derek Jones, was followed by presentations from Cisco’s Director of Enterprise Networks and IoT, Sarah Eccleston; business guru and author, Guy Arnold; and Director of Partner Community for GFI MAX, Dave Sobel. All four were enthusiastically received, the audience taking advantage of the Q&A sessions to explore further aspects of the Internet of Things, ‘sales through service’ and the managed services market.

Videos of the event, which took place on the Thursday 19th and Friday 20th June, will be available shortly on the Synaxon UK Youtube channel at

Following the presentations, members flocked to the exhibition area, which was the lively until 7.00pm, after which attendees enjoyed a special ‘around the world’ buffet and a free bar. The presentations and evening entertainment took place on Thursday; on Friday, delegates were able to attend a series of in-depth presentations and tuition sessions from sponsors and supplier partners, as well as the Synaxon team.

Derek Jones, Managing Director of Synaxon UK, stated: “We were delighted by the turnout and by the response to the whole event from members, distributors, vendors and services supplier partners. The talks by our keynotes, Sarah Eccleston and Guy Arnold were fascinating and I’d urge anyone who could not make it to watch them online.

“It was also a great networking event and one that clearly demonstrated the effectiveness vibrancy and dynamism of the Synaxon UK community. We are going to be extremely busy following up on all the new opportunities that have emerged during the two days. The only disappointment was the football result. The game was displayed in exhibition room on a cinema screen – and an England win would have rounded the day off brilliantly. Even so, as the conference demonstrated, the Synaxon members and its UK team are real winners.”

Synaxon also presented its 2014 Partner Awards at the event. The winners here were as follows:

  • Distributor of the Year – Ingram Micro UK
  • Vendor of the Year – Cisco
  • Service provider of the year – Autotask
  • Synaxon Member of the Year – Drum Brae Solutions
  • Best New Opportunity – Purple Wifi
  • Special Recognition Award – Kingsfield Computer Products
