Tech Data appoints Mark Whittle as Microsoft Business Manager

Basingstoke, 25 June 2015 – Tech Data UK has appointed Mark Whittle, who has run the company’s successful Lenovo business for the past three years, as its new Microsoft Business Manager. In his new role, he will be responsible for all aspect of Microsoft sales and supporting partners in driving their Microsoft revenues and cloud business.

A Tech Data veteran of more than ten years, Whittle says he is really looking forward to his new post. “With the cloud really starting to take off and Microsoft leading the way, it’s a great time to be moving into the role. There is so much going on and I am really looking forward to it.”

One strong area of focus for Whittle will be Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme. Tech Data is one of the first distributors to participate in the programme, which aims to expand cloud sales opportunities for resellers. It enables Microsoft Partners to offer services, provisioning, management and support of cloud products and services.

Tech Data is integrating CSP into its StreamOne cloud aggregation platform and this will make it easy for resellers to offer customers a range of cloud solutions and organise monthly bills. “If you are offering Office 365 and InTune, as an Advisor or through Open, for example, CSP will open some good opportunities”, says Whittle.
