Tech Data: Tech Data adds Sage to TD Activate-here

Addition of the leading accounting range makes it even easier for resellers and webstores to offer top-selling software products to small business customers and consumers

Basingstoke, 08 April 2014 – Tech Data has added Sage’s leading range of small business accounting and payroll solutions to Activate-here – its online electronic software distribution (ESD) service that makes it simple for SMB resellers, e-tailers and retailers to offer a full and up-to-date choice of top selling software packages to their customers.

The addition of the Sage Instant Accounts and Payroll, Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts ranges to TD Activate-here strengthens the appeal of Tech Data’s industry-leading electronic software distribution system even further. Resellers and retailers can order software products for immediate download and activation by the customer on TD Activate-here. There is no requirement to order product in advance or to display or stock physical ‘boxed’ software. It means that resellers can always offer full availability of software products and benefit from improved cash-flow and reduced cost.

TD Activate-here has been very successful since it was launched in mid- 2011, with the number of customers activating products on the service growing steadily. Many resellers have taken advantage of the immediate availability of products through TD Activate-here to close more opportunities and increase their software revenues. More than 2,500 resellers have used the service to date across Europe and a growing number are using the service on a frequent basis.

A number of retailers are also making use of the system to provide customers with a download and self-activation option on their own webstores.

The full range of products from Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, McAfee, F-Secure and IRIS are already available on TD Activate-here and with the addition of Sage, James Reed, Director of Software and Systems at Tech Data, is expecting the usage of the system to increase.
